Terms of Service

Last updated: 31 August 2026

These terms govern your use of ninjatyping.com. There is no account to open, no fee to pay and nothing to cancel, so most of what follows is about two things: what you may do with the content we publish, and the limits of what we promise. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than the usual wall of capital letters.

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of ninjatyping.com and everything offered on it — the typing tests, exam formats, practice tools, games, guides and articles (together, the Service), operated by Ninja Typing. By using the Service you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Service.

These terms should be read together with our disclaimer, which sets out the limits of the content and what a score here means, and our privacy policy, which sets out what data is and is not collected.

2. What the Service is

Ninja Typing provides free online typing tests, government exam practice formats, professional and corporate typing tests, coding drills, tests in several languages, a structured touch typing course, typing games and written guides. Everything is provided for practice and educational purposes.

All scoring happens locally in your browser. Your keystrokes and results are not transmitted to us and are not stored on any server, which is a deliberate design choice rather than a gap. One consequence is worth stating plainly: we cannot retrieve, restore or verify a past result for you, because no copy of it has ever existed outside your own device.

3. No account, no fee, and no promise of availability

The Service requires no registration and costs nothing to use. We do not sell subscriptions, we do not operate a premium tier, and we will never ask you to pay to see a result you have already earned.

In return, we make no commitment about availability. The Service is offered as it is and as it happens to be available. We may change, suspend, move or withdraw any part of it — including individual tests, passages or guides — at any time and without notice. Because the Service is free, your remedy if you are dissatisfied with it is to stop using it.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • Attempt to disrupt, overload or interfere with the Service, its hosting or its network
  • Use bots, scrapers or other automated systems to harvest content or to generate artificial traffic, including artificial advertising impressions or clicks
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
  • Reverse engineer or decompile the Service, or attempt to extract its source beyond what your browser necessarily does in order to run it
  • Use the Service in any way that infringes the rights of others or breaks any applicable law

There are no accounts here, so there is nobody for us to suspend. The only enforcement available to us is technical — blocking abusive traffic at the network level — and we would much rather not have to use it.

5. What you may do with our passages and articles

Every passage and article on this site was written for it, which means we get asked what may be done with them. Rather than leave that to a vague sentence about commercial use, here is the actual answer. The short version is that we are happy for people to teach with this material and unhappy about it being republished as somebody else’s content.

UsePermittedNotes
Practising on the site as much as you like, on any device, without an accountYesThis is what the site is for. There is no usage limit and no paid tier.
A teacher, trainer or coaching centre using our passages with their own studentsYesFree of charge and without asking us first, in class or printed on paper. A credit to ninjatyping.com is appreciated but not required.
Quoting a passage, or an extract from an article, in a review, post or videoYesNormal quotation, with a link back. No permission needed.
Republishing our passages or articles as the content of another site, app or ebookNoThis is the one that actually costs us something, and it is why the restriction exists at all.
Using the passage corpus as training data for a machine learning modelNoNot permitted without written agreement, whether the model is commercial or not.
Automated scraping, crawling or bulk downloading beyond ordinary search engine indexingNoSearch engines are welcome. Bulk harvesting is not.
Selling our content, or placing it behind a paywall or registration wallNoThe content is free here and should stay free wherever it travels.

If what you want to do is not covered above, or sits somewhere between the rows, write to us and ask. Requests from teachers, non-profit training programmes and accessibility projects are read sympathetically, and the answer is usually yes.

6. Ownership of the content

All content on the Service — the practice passages, the articles and guides, the design, the logo and the software behind the tests — is owned by Ninja Typing or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Subject to section 5 above, you are granted a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own typing practice. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

Third-party names appearing on the site — examinations, employers, software, keyboard layouts — remain the property of their respective owners and are used descriptively only, as explained in section 9.

7. Copyright complaints

Our passages are original work, so we do not expect complaints of this kind. If you nonetheless believe that something published here infringes your copyright, write to contact@ninjatyping.com identifying the material and the page it appears on, describing the work you say it infringes, and giving us a way to reach you.

We will look at it properly rather than reflexively. If the complaint is well founded the material comes down, and if we think it is not, we will tell you why rather than ignore you.

8. Anything you send us

We actively invite corrections, bug reports, passage suggestions and requests for tests that do not exist yet. If you send us one, you agree that we may act on it, publish a correction based on it, or build what you suggested, without obligation, attribution or payment, unless we agree otherwise with you in writing first.

That is not a claim over anything you write to us. It simply means a suggestion is a suggestion, and acting on one does not create a commercial relationship. Please do not send us anything confidential, and please do not send us personal data belonging to somebody else.

9. No affiliation with examination authorities or employers

Ninja Typing is an independent practice platform. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially associated with the Staff Selection Commission, the Railway Recruitment Boards, CPCT, DSSSB, UPSSSC, any High Court, or any other government department or examination authority, nor with any employer named or described on the site. Exam names are used only to identify the format a test replicates.

Exam-format tests are practice aids built to resemble official formats. They do not guarantee any particular result, we do not issue certificates, and the official notification for your recruitment cycle always governs. This is set out at greater length, along with the reasons a score here can differ from an official one, in the disclaimer.

10. Use by children

This is a general audience site rather than one aimed at children, but we are aware that school students use typing tests and we would rather address it than pretend otherwise. Using the Service requires no account and no personal information, and the tests themselves collect nothing.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The site does carry third-party advertising, which may use cookies, and a parent or guardian who wants to understand exactly what that involves should read the privacy policy, where the consent controls are also explained. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Third-party services and advertising

The Service uses third-party services including Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, and displays advertising provided by Google AdSense and its partners. These parties may use cookies and similar technologies, described in our privacy policy along with your consent choices.

Advertisements are selected automatically. We do not choose them, do not endorse them and are not responsible for the products, services or content they promote, nor for the content of external sites linked from the Service. No article or passage here is sponsored or written at an advertiser’s request, and there are no affiliate links.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided on an as is and as available basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error free, that defects will be corrected, or that a score measured here — speed or accuracy — will match one measured by official examination software. The full reasoning behind that last point is in the disclaimer.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ninja Typing shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the Service. That includes any loss said to arise from reliance on a result measured here or on information published here.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, and nothing here affects any statutory rights you have as a consumer.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site changes. When we do, the date at the top of this page is revised, and continued use of the Service after that constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We do not maintain an archive of previous versions, so the version published here is the one that applies.

15. Governing law and severability

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law provisions. If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in force and the unenforceable provision is treated as modified only so far as necessary to make it enforceable.

These terms, together with the disclaimer and privacy policy, are the entire agreement between us regarding the Service.

16. Contact

Questions about these terms, permission requests, and anything covered above can go to contact@ninjatyping.com, or through the contact page, which sets out what to include and how long a reply usually takes.
